Redeeming air miles for hotel stays is not a good deal
Redeeming 30,000 to 50,000 air miles for a fancy hotel stay is a lot of miles to sacrifice. For one thing, airlines will overcharge you for mile redemption. You might end up paying a cent or two per mile, or more, for a hotel stay that could cost you less in cash on your own.
