In 1957, Giorgio Armani was a young man serving in the Italian military. While on vacation, Armani was offered a job as photographer’s assistant in a department store. The position paid $1.38 an hour, or $12.63 today. Armani eventually changed modern fashion. He’s worth $11.2 billion today.
