This gemstone is so rare that when one goes on sale, experts, collectors and the elite pay attention. A 14.62 carat Blue Diamond, known as “The Oppenheimer Blue” sold for $57.5 million at an auction in Geneva, Switzerland in 2016. A blue diamond is worth $3.93 million per carat.
