Insurance for self-driving cars won’t be standardized anytime soon
Insurance for automated cars is a new business territory. There are too many variables for standard policies to exist anytime soon. If an automated car hits someone, who is liable? The onboard algorithm and the company that wrote it, or, the car’s owner? If an autonomous car is hacked and gets into an accident, who is to blame? All of those questions must be answered before the first policy is issued.
