International roaming rates
Using data plans outside of coverage areas can result in high international roaming fees. Verizon charges $3 a minute calls or $0.50 per text outside the United States. AT&T charges a $10 a day for an International Day Pass. Leave your cell at home and chat via the Internet. If practical, get a local SIM card.
