Tesla had issued an advance warning on the Q1 losses, saying that the figures would “be negatively impacted” due to “lower than expected delivery volumes and several pricing adjustments.” During a call with analysts following the Q1 results, Musk cited seasonality issues and tried to explain away the dismal figures by saying that people do not prefer to buy cars in the winter.
