Hawaii’s exceptional tree deduction

Hawaii has a tree and nature appreciation program designed to reward residents who help with preservation efforts.

So the Aloha state offers up to $3,000 in tax deductions for residents with trees on their property that display “exceptional” qualities.

An exceptional tree must have historic or cultural significance, be of a rare, aged species, be endangered or be of a certain size, among other qualifications.
