Almost one-third of Apple’s suppliers report their earnings before Apple and share prices are leading indicators. Stock prices in the supplier group tend to lead notable Apple announcements by approximately one week. For instance, supplier stock prices hit bottom on December 24th, one week before iPhone sales guidance was cut by Apple on January 2.
Can the prices of supplier stocks predict the movement of Apple in the future? It’s hard to say definitively, but astute Apple investors would be well served to track those stocks for hints of future stock price moves for the tech giant.
