Barring a very dark period when he self-sabotaged himself with drug abuse problems, Robert Downey Jr. has been an acting phenomenon since the 1980s. He remade himself as Iron Man in 2008 and made billions for Disney ever since. His first post-Iron Man role, “Doolittle,” cost $200 million to produce but will lose $100 million.
