Try saying that name three times fast! Pronounced “pad-pah-raj-ah,” it is a rare pink-orange sapphire found in parts of Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. They are so rare buyers will settle on duller colored gemstones with less clarity. These are worth about $8,000 per carat, but you will pay more for higher quality stones.
