Medical face masks are designed to prevent wearers from spreading their germs to others. They also protect wearers from pollution. The N95 respirator face mask requires a filter and blocks 95% of dust particles. Many states now require at least cloth masks in public in order to reduce transmission. Sick people should stay home, but if someone in your household goes out — they should wear a mask.
