Don’t fire up your java on this historic Venetian bridge
The Rialto Bridge is one of the oldest bridge structures spanning Venice’s Grand Canal. It was probably constructed in 1588. In July 2019, two German tourists sat on the foot of the bridge and brewed coffee on a camping stove. They were fined $1,000 and then ordered to leave Venice immediately.
