How Much Bad Tourist Behavior Will Cost You When You Travel Abroad

Please don’t climb onto the Easter Island statues

Easter Island is home to 1,000 Moai statues that were carved by the Rapa Nui people about 800 years ago. Tourists visits are restricted because people want to climb up and onto the statues for selfies. In 2008, a Finnish tourist chipped one of the statues. He was arrested, fined $17,000 and banned from the island.
