Jazz improvising robots
In 2015, the Department of Defense granted $2 million to researchers and musicians at the University of Arizona, the University of Urbana-Champagne and Oberlin College to develop A.I. programs that could creatively jam with human jazz musicians. The goal is to spur creative and improvisational thought programming in future A.I. and robots.
