3D cinema is repackaged for consumers once every generation. It was 3DTV’s turn to fail spectacularly in the 2010s. Consumers had recently converted to digital signal TVs from analog and didn’t want to buy another TV. Then there were 2D-to-3D conversion issues. 3DTV required $100 3D glasses and the 3DTV itself cost $3,000 to $12,000. No takers.
