New Jersey native Evelyn Adams won the lottery two years in a row, in 1985 and 1986. She won more than $5.4 million. Adams lost her privacy and was constantly inundated by loan requests by relatives and friends. She bought material items and gambled often in Atlantic City. By 2012 Adams was flat broke and living in a trailer.
