The $5 million ticket lost forever
Martyn and Kay Tott, young British newlyweds, won $5 million in 2011. Unfortunately, the Totts lost their lottery ticket shortly thereafter. The UK national lottery agency investigated and confirmed the Tott’s win. However, there is a 30-day limit on ticket redemption, so the Tott’s claim eventually become void. The unclaimed winnings went to charity.
