In 2015, Martin “Pharma Bro” Shkreli earned global scorn for raising the price of Daraprim from $13 a pill to $750 a pill. Daraprim is used to prevent infections in organ transplant patients, AIDS patients, and those who contract parasites. Its costs $45,000 for a 60-day supply, about the cost of 2019 Nissan 370Z.
