It’s a slow burn takeover
Most highly skilled occupations are safe from a complete automation. Robot butchers, architects, and doctors are being perfected as we speak but it takes time for such technologies to be perfected. The Brookings report states that no corner of industry nor type of employment will be untouched by automation in the coming decades but at least some of us might work long enough to retire before being pushed out.
