This is an alternative investment ideal for high net worth individuals. They are similar to mutual funds, but the money is invested in a wide variety of financial instruments, including some of the riskier asset classes. These funds have a twofold objective: To generate consistent returns while preserving the capital. However, hedge fund have a steep entry barrier and often are available only to those who can invest large sums of money.
