Economic growth continues, but moderates

Growth has slowed from 3.2% through March to approximately 1.6% for the current quarter. The Fed’s long-run growth rate target for the economy is approximately 1.9%. Should the rate slide below that number a rate cut would be likely. The yield curve inverted recently, a phenomenon where short-term lending rates exceed long-term rates. That often precedes a recession.
