No billionaire on this planet is as popular as the co-founder of Microsoft. In an 2014 interview with Bloomberg, Bill Gates famously said that Bitcoin will change the world and that it’s better than any currency.
He has since retracted his opinion. Now Gates says cryptocurrencies are anonymous, which makes them very risky. In 2018, he told CNBC that initial coin offerings, a means to raise cash to launch a coin, and Bitcoin itself are extremely speculative while the underlying technology – known as blockchain – is not without merits.
