Obsolescence of anchor malls
“Anchor malls” are malls that depend on big retail businesses to anchor continual consumer traffic and generate profits on a consistent basis. Since 2015, however, barely 6% of consumer revenue has been generated in malls. Anchor mall proponents never strategized how to adapt or survive the rise of e-commerce.
