Don’t get high in public in Amsterdam
Far too many people take Amsterdam’s legalized pot culture to mean “party in the streets like an idiot.” It’s nevertheless illegal to smoke marijuana in public in Amsterdam. You can smoke only in cafes and hotels that allow it, and not all of them allow it. Amsterdam has problems with tourists being drunk and stoned in public, littering, and creating public disturbances. Break these rules and you risk a $155 ticket or jail.
