Taaffeite
Taaffeite is so rare most people have never heard of it. It was first discovered in 1945. It was probably sourced earlier but aesthetically mistaken for another gemstone, Spinel. It is 1 million times rarer than diamonds and is only found in Sri Lanka or Tanzania. Price: $2,500 per carat.
